Cookie policy

At CARACOL we only use the cookies and local storage the platform needs to work and to remember your choices. We do not use advertising, cross-site tracking or third-party analytics cookies. That is why we do not ask you to accept a banner: nothing described below is used to profile you or shared with advertisers.

Cookies

• app_session_id — keeps you signed in to your account. Necessary, sent only over secure connections and not readable by other scripts. It lasts until you sign out or the session expires.
• __Host-oauth_state — protects sign-in against forged requests. Necessary; it lasts a few minutes.
• caracol-locale — remembers whether you prefer Spanish or English. It lasts one year.

Your browser's local storage

Some preferences are stored only on your device (not on our servers):

• ae-saved-properties — properties you saved.
• ae-comparison-properties — properties you chose to compare.
• caracol-catalog-view-preference and caracol-last-explored-map-property — whether you prefer the map or the list, and the last property you explored on the map.
• caracol-map-exploration-history — properties viewed on the map during the session.
• caracol-claw-live-session — identifies your chat conversation so it is not lost when you change pages.
• caracol-buyer-preferences-onboarding-dismissed — remembers that you closed the preferences assistant.
• theme — the chosen appearance.

Third-party services

When a map is shown, your browser downloads images from OpenStreetMap, which may log your IP address under its own policy. CARACOL does not set third-party cookies.

How to control them

You can delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you delete the session cookie you will need to sign in again; if you delete local storage you will lose the favourites and comparisons saved on that device.

Changes

If we ever add a measurement tool, we will update this policy before enabling it and, where required, ask for your consent. If this English version and the Spanish version differ, the Spanish version prevails.
